Last night i let my friend sleep at my house by himself. he had stolen things. can i charge him with robbery?

my mom wasnt there and i let him sleep there because he didnt have anywhere else to sleep. i cam back early in the morning and he had stolen little things like an old phone,my ipod, a watch, and a knife. the next day my mom said she was missing jewelry, i know it was him. can we charge him with robbery?
